It appears that a Tennessee doctor is facing similar allegations of
implanting unnecessary stents in patients as the current
lawsuits filed in Maryland against Dr. Mark Midei and
St. Joseph Medical Center. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is looking at Dr. Elie Korban of the Heart and Vascular Center of West Tennessee.
In later 2009, 369 patients of Dr. Mark Midei were notified by letter that they may have receive unneeded stent implants while at St. Joseph Medical Center. This latest allegation in Tennessee follows a recent allegation in Pittsburgh, PA, where it is believed that
doctors implanted unnecessary stents.
During the first part of 2010, another 169 patients of Dr. Mark Midei were notified of a possible unnecessary stent implantation. All patients were notified they should seek review by their
cardiologists of their current heart conditions.
If you were a
patient of Dr. Mark Midei or received a
stent implant from St Joseph Medical Center,
Union Memorial Hospital, or Washington Adventist Hospital, contact our office at
410-288-2900 for a FREE stent review. All information is confidential. No fee/no recovery.
Stents are often used by cardiologist to open blocked arteries with the use of a mesh tube. The medical field typically recognizes a blockage of at least 70% as a medically necessary situation for use of a stent. Yet we have found in our clients that some blockages were only 10% to 50%.
We are currently representing clients in
St. Joseph coronary stent lawsuits that are filed individually and not a class action on behalf of all clients. This ensures that each client has their individual rights protected and resolved per their claim. Contact our
Maryland Stent Lawyer G. Randolph Rice, Jr., Esquire.
If you received a
coronary artery stent from Dr. Mark Midei or St. Joseph Medical Center, contact our office at 410-288-2900 for a FREE stent review. We can send you our stent packet to be completed in the privacy of your home. Once you complete the questionnaire and return to our office, we will have our cardiologist review your procedure and render an opinion on the necessity of your stent(s).
